• Pictures of The Great Flood of 2007...

The 25th June 2007 will go down in history for Associated Chemists (Wicker) Ltd. The River Don burst its banks around 2.30pm and within minutes water starting flowing up and down the streets surrounding the property. Within hours the floodwater had reached traffic cone level and the staff that were still at work were stranded. South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue did a stirling job and by 8pm everyone had been rescued from Wicker Pharmacy and Wicker Mobility Shop - by boat!

The Pharmacy has been open everyday since 1952 and even this flood didn't stop us maintaining this impressive record. Thanks to our superb staff we were able to open by 8.30am the next day, offering an emergency service with a virtually normal service resuming the next day.

Here are a selection of photos taken by various members of staff showing both the flooding and the devestation caused as the waters receded.
